Earlier this week, we relayed news from France that Paris Saint-Germain are trying to sign Bernardo Silva and his agent is working on taking him away from Manchester City.
The 28-year-old is a ‘priority’ target for the Ligue 1 winners and they are accelerating their efforts to sign him.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say the ‘first offer has been made’ to Manchester City by the Paris club.
It’s claimed PSG’s proposal includes a €42m fee plus a player, Marco Verratti or Gianluigi Donnarumma, as part of the deal. However, Pep Guardiola’s side ‘did not blink’ and have turned it down.
The proposal is considered ‘inadequate’ to even start negotiations to let go of the Portugal international. The midfielder has two years left on his deal and the report says Manchester City have set a €100m asking price.
PSG are aware the player is open to the transfer as the Parc des Princes club interests him but the high asking price set by the treble winners could make it difficult to carry out the deal.
Therefore, Foot Mercato explain that they are also working to sign Lyon’s Bradley Barcola.
Should Silva leave the English champions, the report states Manchester City will shift their focus to Nicolò Barella. The Inter Milan star is appreciated by Guardiola and Txiki Begiristain.
