As we cover the Italian media on a daily basis, it’s becoming clear that Juventus see Liverpool as a big danger this summer.
The Serie A side have their sights set on signing Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta to bolster their midfield, but the Dutchman is apparently a big target for the Reds as well.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport on Wednesday, who cover the Turin side’s plans this summer, which could be scuppered by Liverpool.
It’s explained that Atalanta initially wanted €40m for their star, but with him impressing this season, that figure has gone up to around €50-60m.
Then, there’s the chance that him having a good Euros with the Netherlands takes that price even higher, and Juventus could find themselves in a bit of a pickle.
Because not only would he be borderline too expensive, they would also have to deal with competition from rich Premier League clubs, ‘first and foremost Liverpool’, who have ‘already set their sights’ on the Atalanta star.
At this point, he may be Juventus’ priority, but it remains to be seen whether they end up being the ones getting him, with Liverpool close by.
