Financial Fair Play issues are current ‘ruining’ Arsenal’s hopes of signing Everton midfielder Amadou Onana before the end of the month.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who reports that the chances of a ‘successful conclusion’ to Arsenal’s interest in the Everton man are slim because of the financial limits currently on them.
Arsenal were heavily linked with a move for the Belgian at the beginning of the month when claims from his homeland stated the Gunners were in talks about a big money move.
That was followed by several claims that Onana was keen to move on, liked the idea of joining Mikel Arteta’s side and was pushing for it to happen.
They’ve since been pulled back, with it explained Arsenal needed to secure exits to help them balance the books before moving for the Everton star.
Tavolieri continues that today, reporting that Financial Fair Play is ‘ruining’ their chances of getting Onana before the end of the month.
The chances of a deal are slim at this point, but he insists it is a case of wait and see as a ‘last-minute’ departure from the Emirates could ‘obviously change everything’.
