Eric Bailly is ‘pawing the ground’ at Manchester United waiting for an exit, with Roma confident of getting a deal done.

That’s according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, who say the 28-year-old is ‘increasingly on the sidelines’ at Old Trafford and likely to depart this summer.

Roma are keen on a deal for him, with Jose Mourinho holding the centre-back in high esteem after working alongside him during his time in Manchester United.

Both are happy to reunite in Italy and Bailly ‘would immediately move’ given the opportunity to do so.

Roma are currently looking at a loan deal with a right to buy included, something which is seen as a ‘feasible operation’ by the Italian side.

However, much of their work at the moment is focused on moving players out of the club to bolster their budget and lower the wage bill.

Even then, the priority is to get a deal for Georginio Wijnaldum over the line as there is ‘almost an emergency’ in midfield.

He’s the priority, for the time being, leaving Bailly waiting for his exit from Manchester United for the time being.
