Kerim Alajbegovic can star for Bosnia at the World Cup and Leeds United have a chance at signing him.
The winger scored nine times and racked up three assists for Salzburg during the last campaign. This has led to him becoming part for the national team, with Alajbegovic being a key player in their World Cup qualification.
He already has four assists and one goal for Bosnia since making his debut.
The 18-year-old will return to Bayer Leverkusen as part of a permanent transfer in the summer. But his future remains uncertain and Leeds United could bring him to England this summer.
Transfer attempts ongoing
Today’s Gazzetta dello Sport report on attempts to bring the youngster to Italy. Alajbegovic’s father has been to Rome, with AS Roma one of the contenders to sign him.
Miralem Pjanic himself is helping out the winger and has approached several Serie A clubs for his signature.
However, nothing concrete has materialised. Even if the teenager has put Roma at the top of his wishlist, the Giallorossi are yet to make a formal move.
Now, Premier League clubs are ‘making moves’ for the player. There is an indication of interest from Leeds United, who can prove to be a real threat for Roma.
Gian Piero Gasperini is keen on the player but has other options on the shortlist. This includes West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville and Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa.
Game-changer signing
The Bosnian is one of the most exciting talents in the game right now. This makes the next few weeks quite exciting for his career and it can also play a role in a possible Leeds United transfer.
Roma have limited financial capacity which may be an advantage for Daniel Farke’s side.
Despite this the World Cup could be a negative for Leeds United. Other clubs could join the race and offer him European football that even Bayer Leverkusen can guarantee next season.
