Last summer, Norwich City’s Christos Tzolis joined Fortuna Düsseldorf on a loan deal with an option to buy.
The second division German club have scored 56 league goals this season and the winger has been directly involved in close to 40% of those, with 15 goals and seven assists from 23 games.
According to Sky Deutschland, Fortuna Düsseldorf have to pay €5m to Norwich City to buy him in the summer.
The Greece international’s impressive displays have improved the German club’s chances of returning to the Bundesliga. They are currently fourth in the table, a point behind third placed Amburgo and six behind Holstein Kiel, who are in second spot.
Fortuna Düsseldorf are keen on retaining the Norwich City owned player but it won’t be easy because the Canaries’ request is too high. The report further adds they don’t have the sort of funds to carry out this operation.
According to Sky Deutschland, Fortuna Düsseldorf supporters have started a ‘crowdfunding campaign’ in order to help the club buy the attacker. They have raised €9.7k and are very far away from the €5m needed to buy Tzolis from Norwich… but every little helps.
