Tottenham Hotspur continue to lead the race for Genoa star Albert Gudmundsson, the Italian media says.
As outlet Inter Live today highlights the Nerazzurri’s interest in the player, it’s made clear that it’s Spurs who are closer to the signing.
According to the outlet, Tottenham are in ‘pole position’ and can use the help of Fabio Paratici. Even though the director remains suspended, it’s said he holds ‘great influence’ at the club.
Spurs signed Radu Dragusin from Genoa back in the January transfer window, and since the defender shares the same agency as Gudmundsson, that’s another factor that could lead to a move to London.
Inter Milan remain very interested, though, because while they also pursue Joshua Zirkzee, it’s really the Genoa player who’s seen as ‘more within reach’. Juventus, who tried his signing in the last transfer window, are also said to be in the fight.
Gudmundsson’s club reportedly want to make between €35m and €40m with his sale. It should be no surprise if that turns into an auction, and Tottenham would surely be well positioned to make the highest bid.
