West Ham United and Aston Villa have asked for information about BSC Young Boys defender Mohamed Ali Camara, a source has told Sport Witness.
The 23-year-old finished the 2020/21 season with 39 appearances across all competitions and was a vital figure in the heart of the back four in his side’s title winning campaign.
Camara’s club form has drawn attention from England, and among hosts of Premier League clubs, the Hammers and Dean Smith’s side are following about the Guinea international.
Last month, Young Boys announced the centre-back has put pen to paper on a contract extension and his new deal will run down in 2024.
Despite the renewal, a source has told Sport Witness the Swiss champions would allow the player leave this summer if they receive a convincing offer.
For now, David Moyes’ side and Villa have only probed about the defender and haven’t taken further steps to sign Camara.
He joined Young Boys from Israeli side Hapoel Ra’anana in 2018, and after taking a year’s time to settle, he became a regular for his current employer.
