The agent of Federico Santander isn’t any happy with the fuss created after Sunderland’s interest in the player was reported.
On Monday, Paraguayan website ABC published an article about the Black Cats’ chase of the striker and said the club would be ready to pay €35m for the signing, which would make him the most expensive Paraguayan player of all time.
Asked if he’d like to comment on the recent rumours, Santander’s representative Oskar Olsen told Sport Witness: “Not really. The interest and figures have been blown out of proportion”.
“We don’t wish to comment any further at this moment”, finished Onfield Management’s CEO.
With seven goals and three assists in 19 appearances this season, the striker is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €1.75m.
He left his Paraguayan club Guaraní to join FC Copenhagen for €3.1m in 2015, where he scored 17 goals in his debut season.
For those who want to see Santander in action, he’s set to face Leicester City on Tuesday night in the Champions League group stage.
He’s already scored one goal against Club Brugge in the group stage and three others during the qualifiers.
