When speaking of Carlos Carvalhal, it’s hard not to recall his time at Sheffield Wednesday.
Working at the Championship side between 2015 and 2017, he was in charge for 131 games, the most at the same club in his career.
Following his time at Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea City, Carvalhal never hid his wish to return to British football, and even revealed three offers from English clubs at one point.
It seems his comeback, however, isn’t happening so soon. Because according to reports from Portugal, the manager has just reached an agreement to move to Brazil.
Zero Zero claims the former Sheffield Wednesday man is on his way to Atlético Mineiro. The Brazilian champions apparently reached a deal with his current club Braga and will pay €2m for his move.
The report says the agreement is ‘total’ and ‘will be made official quickly’.
Atlético Mineiro currently have one of the best squads in Brazil, having won the league and the cup last season. So despite the big pressure Carvalhal will get at the club, he’ll also have the resources to fight for big titles.
