Earlier this week, we covered reports from Spain regarding Real Betis’ concern about Leeds United loanee Marc Roca.
It was claimed that the player has been struggling with ankle issues for weeks, and is now set to miss another match at the weekend.
As Mucho Deporte features a story on the situation, they explain why the Leeds loanee has had a drastic drop in prominence this year.
The outlet makes it clear that manager Manuel Pellegrini did not lose confidence in Roca, as it’s only the physical issues that have been hampering him.
It’s said ‘everything started to go wrong in January’, when he had pneumonia. His return wasn’t great, due to the illness, and that’s why he hasn’t started a game since February.
That obviously impacts on his future, with Mucho Deporte claiming that it’s now ‘in the ear’. Betis want to keep him and shall open negotiations with Leeds for a summer move, but the player himself still needs to be heard about that.
It remains to be seen if those physical issues will result in the Spanish side wanting to pay less.
