Teun Koopmeiners joined Juventus from Atalanta in the summer in what was a highly-anticipated transfer in the Serie A.
The midfielder has made a slow start to life at the Old Lady but the feeling is that he will improve and show his true colours as the season goes on.
The Netherlands international has now spoken to TuttoSport about life at his new club and he has revealed that he sought some advice from Manchester United’s Matthijs de Ligt, who was previously at Juve.
He told the outlet: “I had never been here but I knew the history of the club and I had played against them.
The midfielder further said: “Let’s say that when I arrived, I saw first-hand that everything I knew and that De Ligt had told me was true: from the services to the facilities, to the kindness of the people. Really fantastic. Here at Juve everything is beautiful: on the first day I felt like I was living a dream.”
It’s clear the Manchester United defender is quite close to Koopmeiners, who had also attracted attention from Liverpool.
Koopmeiners said he had options to move to the Premier League but is happy in Italy, both on and off the pitch, and playing for Juventus was a childhood dream.
De Ligt’s words only added to that.
