Everton will need to work hard to convince Real Betis to sell Luiz Henrique this month, with their financial problems meaning they can’t satisfy the Spanish side’s demands.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who cover the situation around the Brazilian today and how the various interested parties aren’t offering what Betis would want.
They explain that there is ‘discontent’ at Betis with Brazilian side Flamengo, who only offered the club a ‘cheap formula’ for the winger despite paying elsewhere for other players.
That annoyed Betis, who ‘will not accept haggling’ for the player, valuing him at €18m and demanding that figure be met in any deal.
While the player and his agents ‘liked the possibility’ of a move to Goodison Park, their financial situation meant they can only offer a ‘simple transfer with a purchase option’.
The deal would not see them pay any money now or set any conditions for a transfer in the summer, meaning Betis would not be guaranteed anything in the deal.
In simple terms, it seems Everton want a loan until the end of the season with an option to make the move permanent rather than an obligation to do so. That doesn’t suit Betis who, at most, would accept a loan with an obligation.
Everton, then, have work to do if they do want the Brazilian. They seem to have approval from him and his agents, but Betis need convincing to soften their stance if anything is to happen.
