Everton striker Cenk Tosun has told Besiktas he is willing to join the club should they find an agreement with the Toffees.
That’s according to Asist Analiz, who also carry comments from his father and agent Senol Tosun, about a potential transfer.
Tosun has been heavily linked with a move away from Goodison Park this month after playing a peripheral role under Carlo Ancelotti this season.
He has been linked with moves in the Premier League and Bundesliga, but Besiktas were added to the list of suitors today with it stated they had seen a loan bid rejected by Everton.
It was claimed they would be returning with a second effort and it seems that is a result of being encouraged to do so by Tosun himself.
Assist Analiz say that when Besiktas ‘took action’ to try and sign their former player they received a ‘positive response’ from Tosun, who is claimed to have told the club that he is willing to return if they can find an agreement with Everton.
This has been backed by his father, who told the website; “We did not receive instructions from Everton to find a club. However, if the clubs agree, Cenk wears the Beşiktaş jersey again. But there is nothing for now.”
It now remains to be seen if the two clubs can find an agreement, but this is very much an about turn from Tosun.
Earlier this month he made it clear he wasn’t really interested in a move back to Turkey and would prefer to remain in Europe if he were to leave Goodison this month.
He stated at the time that he would decide on his future in a couple of weeks and it seems that, with no interesting offers arriving in that time and West Brom turning to Mbaye Diagne instead, he’s now decided he wouldn’t mind returning to his homeland after all.
