West Bromwich Albion will pay £1.4m to sign Mbaye Diagne from Galatasaray on loan until the end of the season.

That’s according to Milliyet, who say the Baggies are paying more for the loan deal than previous reports.

Diagne appears to be closing in on a move to the Hawthorns before the end of the transfer window, with reports in Turkey today indicating a deal is close to completion.

Those reports, which stated Diagne is flying to England to finalise his move after undergoing a medical in Turkey this morning, also stated that West Brom were paying €800,000 to loan the striker until the end of the season.

Milliyet say it is more than that, though, stating that Galatasaray have ‘signed an agreement’ with West Brom for a loan deal that will cost Sam Allardyce and co £1.4m, which would actually be €1.57m.

They also state that the Super Lig side will be paying Diagne’s wages during the loan spell, with the striker having already said goodbye to his teammates ahead of the move.

Indeed, the deal appears to be close to completion, with the player also having been left out of Galatasaray’s clash with Gaziantep FK on Friday.
