Everton target Rogério seems to be living some decisive moments at Sassuolo.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio today features a piece explaining that the Serie A side have been building a ‘wall’ to protect him from the current offers.
Rogério, whose contract with Sassuolo expires in 2024, has told his agent he ‘doesn’t want to renew’ with the club.
That obviously puts the Italian side in a weak position, as they should decide whether to sell him now or lose him for free next season.
According to Di Marzio, Sassuolo’s request to let the player go this summer is of over €10m, as even a bid of that amount would be rejected.
Everton’s interest in Rogério had a couple of reports from the Italian media this week.
It was first TuttoMercatoWeb who revealed the first contacts for the move, and then Il Resto del Carlino came up to back up the claims.
It’s been said that the fullback is wanted by clubs from Turkey, Portugal and Germany, so the Toffees better watch out for some competition.
There’s still no information on whether Everton have decided to submit a bid, while the demand from Sassuolo is well known.
