Following claims that Thiago Alcantara could end up in Turkey, where Galatasaray are trying to sign him, a new twist has emerged.

This comes courtesy of Sacha Tavolieri, who claims that sources within Liverpool feel that the Spain international leaving Anfield for Barcelona is a ‘concrete possibility’.

After all, the La Liga side are his former club, as he came through their ranks there before heading to Germany at Bayern Munich, which preceded his big transfer to Liverpool.

The midfielder’s injuries have meant his time under Jürgen Klopp, while good, never reached the heights many expected it to, and therefore, with the Reds revamping their squad this summer, an exit is possible.

Still, Tavolieri makes it clear ‘nothing has been done yet’ regarding a move from Liverpool to Barcelona, but the player, should a return to his former club present itself, would be ‘more than keen’ to work under Xavi at the Camp Nou.

This comes around the same time as Al-Ettifaq, managed by Steven Gerrard, are trying to lure Jordan Henderson away with a staggering contract offer.

During his time at Liverpool, the 32-year-old Spain international has made 97 appearances, scored three goals and assisted another six.
