Everton and Southampton are now both linked to Villarreal youngster Nicolas Jackson.

The news comes from Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, who feature a story about his potential departure from the La Liga side.

It’s said there are two ‘requests’ coming from the Premier League, those being from Everton and Southampton.

There are no big details about the Toffees’ chase, as it’s the Saints who are said to be ‘above all’ in the race.

Tutto Mercato Web claim that Southampton have already made an offer to land the 21-year-old on a loan with a right to buy. For now, there’s no information on how much that purchase would be made for.

With the report coming from Italy, they tried to find out about potential interest from Serie A clubs, but claim there’s nothing for now, although that’s not a possibility to be excluded in the January market.

The reason why Jackson could leave Villarreal is that he’s not a regular starter at the La Liga side, and Everton and Southampton apparently try to take advantage of that.
