Everton are one of several sides showing an interest in TSG Hoffenheim midfielder Dennis Geiger, who is set to be available on a free transfer in the summer.
That’s according to Kicker, who say the Toffees are among a growing list of players keen on the 24-year-old.
The newspaper explains that Eintracht Frankfurt are ‘showing great interest’ in the player thanks to his contract expiring at the end of the season.
But there are ‘also others’ interested in the defensive midfielder, who has been with Hoffenheim for 14 years and could be due a change.
Bundesliga clubs have ‘expressed interest’ but so have clubs from outside of Germany, with Benfica admirers and Everton having shown an interest ‘for a long time’.
That is certainly true as we covered a report all the way back in 2019 that stated Everton were interested in Geiger when he was just 21 years old.
Their interest in him was also mentioned again back in November.
They could now be set for a battle as the player nears the end of his contract, with a contract extension failing to materialise despite him insisting he is happy at the club on more than one occasion.
