Everton are in the picture to sign Fluminense’s Kauã Elias, according to a fresh report.
The 18-year-old is a product of the Brazilian club’s youth system and made his way into their first team in 2023. He made 38 appearances in all competitions this year, scoring seven goals and registering two assists in the process.
Lille are shown keen interest in the striker. That’s according to Homme Du Match, who say the Ligue 1 side are joined by Everton and Benfica.
As part of their transfer strategy, Lille are looking to recruit talented youngsters. Elias falls into this category as he’s seen as a player with ‘remarkable potential’. The Brazilian has also aroused interest from the Toffees and the Portuguese club.
It’s claimed both Everton and the Benfica are ‘positioning themselves’ as the French club’s ‘serious competitors’ in the race to sign the youngster.
His contract lasts until December 2029 and the report says the teenager is valued at €7m. This is the fee the interested parties need to offer to secure Elias’ services. The price quoted should be affordable for the Toffees.
Lille could step up their efforts in the next few months, but the transfer depends on their ability to convince both Elias and Fluminense.
Homme Du Match make it clear this is their own information. It needs to be seen whether this claim will be backed up or rejected in England or Brazil.
