Everton have made an offer for Feyenoord defender David Hancko, but below Feyenoord’s €30m asking price for him.

That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who report that Everton and Bayer Leverkusen have already made moves for the defender and could provide competition to Juventus for his signature.

TMW explain that Juventus are continuing to monitor the situation around Hancko, who was their number one target to improve their defence this summer.

He is valued at €30-35m by the Dutch club and there is no intention to lower that value, unless Juventus include Facundo Gonzalez into the deal.

The Italians are yet to offer that, though, and any move for him is dependent on them making it into the Champions League next season.

That’s seen them sitting back and waiting and, in that period, both Everton and Bayer Leverkusen have ‘made an offer’ for the defender. They’ve reportedly put a bid of €25m on the table.

That’s below the €30m requested by Feyenoord, but also higher than the €22m that Atletico Madrid are currently willing to pay. There’s no indication of whether either side will return with an improved bid, but they are now seen as players in the auction that is to come for Hancko’s signature.

Now it would be surprising if Everton were involved given they’re well set in central defence and, even if Jarrad Branthwaite were to leave, would presumably move Jake O’Brien in the centre to replace him.

The Toffees need to spend their money elsewhere, really, so this bid seems unlikely, but TMW insist it has been placed, and Everton are in the mix for Hancko this summer.
