The Davinson Sánchez and Everton rumour feels like a rather convenient one for the defender as he goes through negotiations with Galatasaray for a new contract.
Moving from Tottenham Hotspur to the Turkish club in 2023, the 28-year-old has a contract with Galatasaray which lasts until 2027, with the club having an option to extend that by a further season.
However, with Sánchez apparently being the subject of interest from other clubs there’s been an effort to put him on a new deal.
Friday’s edition of Turkish newspaper Sabah reports Everton have already made a personal terms offer to the Colombia international, although there’s no details shared on the figures involved in that.
Sabah add that Everton are ‘preparing to make a bid’ to the Super Lig club.
There’s confidence Galatasaray will be able to keep their man and get him signed up again, but there surely has to be a suspicion Everton’s name is being used here to assist Sánchez’s camp in negotiations.
Now he’s set to get a pay rise.
