Last summer, Everton’s Moise Kean decided to return to Juventus on a two-year loan deal, with the Old Lady having an obligation to buy him if certain conditions are met during the 2022/23 season.
After enjoying a good temporary spell at Paris Saint-Germain last season, the striker has struggled with the Serie A side this term.
The Everton owned player has six goals and three assists in all competitions. The Italy international made his 11th league start of the campaign against Genoa at the weekend.
Kean assisted Paulo Dybala’s opener, but he will be remembered for his missed chance at the end of the tie, after Albert Guðmundsson equalised for the hosts. Álvaro Morata set up the 22-year-old, who had no pressure and an open goal in front of him.
Kean also had a few attempts earlier in the game, but failed to find the back of the net. After the tie, Sky Italia journalist Paolo Assogna was critical was his performances.
“Kean’s mistake explains Juve’s season. There was a moment when Juve struggled to settle down thinking that they could replace Ronaldo with a player who cannot take responsibility. Kean can be a reserve for a mid-table team, this is his dimension,” Assogna said, as quoted by Juventusnews24.
Massimiliano Allegri’s side are not convinced with Kean and are reportedly looking to cut ties with him after this season. They, however, have to enter into discussions with Everton and also hope another club come forward to sign the attacker in the summer.
