With Everton still looking for a centre forward late in the transfer window, they now seem to be hunting that man in Italy.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, there’s ‘a possible last-minute surprise’ at Udinese, since the Toffees are interested in striker Beto.
It’s claimed that ‘in recent minutes’, Everton placed a concrete offer to sign the player, having put €25m plus bonuses on the table.
TuttoMercatoWeb doesn’t bring any signs of whether that amount would be enough for the Serie A side to accept it, although that’s likely to be, as the striker is valued by Transfermarkt at €13m.
Beto joined Udinese on a move from Portimonense. He first signed on a loan in the summer of 2021, and then had the transfer made permanent for €7m last summer. This season, he has seven goals and two assists in 21 appearances for the club.
The story points out that Napoli had also been interested in the player, but for a summer move, so Everton could win the race by arriving first.
