Vitaliy Mykolenko is currently the only recognised left-back at Everton following Rúben Vinagre’s return to Sporting after his loan spell at Goodison Park. This has seen the Toffees look for a new player in the that position in the summer window.
On Monday, TuttoMercatoWeb reported the Merseyside club have asked for information about Sassuolo’s Rogério.
Everton’s interest in signing the 25-year-old is further backed up by today’s Il Resto del Carlino, when explaining that he has an ‘important market’ outside Italy.
It’s claimed the fullback has suitors in Turkey, Portugal and Germany, where Borussia Dortmund are looking at him.
From the Premier League, Sean Dyche’s side are showing interest in the Brazilian, along with Newcastle United. With regards to Everton, the report states they could ‘blow the cap’.
Meanwhile, Sassuolo’s scouts have identified Trabzonspor’s Eren Elmalı as a potential candidate to replace Rogério, should he decide to move elsewhere in this window. In addition to this, the Italian club will keep close tabs on Bologna’s Giorgos Kyriakopoulos.
Il Resto del Carlino don’t specify whether Everton will convert their interest into an offer to sign the Brazilian.
Rogério’s deal expires in 2024 and he managed four assists from 37 games last season.
