Everton may need to work to convince Toulouse full-back Gabriel Suazo into a move this summer, as he’s eyeing a potential step up in France.
That’s according to journalist Rodrigo López, who says Everton have already asked about the 26-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window.
Suazo joined Toulouse on a free transfer from Colo-Colo in January last year and has been a regular ever since, making 63 appearances since then and registering three goals and six assists in them.
That’s led to suggestions he could be on the way out this summer, with several sides thought to be considering a potential move for him.
Everton are one of those who have been credited with an interest as they look to strengthen Sean Dyche’s squad for next season.
López confirms as much to D Sports, insisting that Everton have already asked about the defender although they could face competition from inside France as Lyon and Marseille are also keen.
And that’s a bit of a problem as Suazo believes he can make a step up in Ligue 1 first rather than moving elsewhere.
“He believes he can take another step in France, in French football,” he said.
“I’m not talking about Paris Saint-Germain but Olympique Lyonnais that has already considered him, he was on a list, Marseille himself, and even the board of directors too. They have him on the list.”
