Sporting goalkeeper Rui Patrício has claimed he will only leave the Portuguese club in case they intend to sell him.
The 28-year-old European Champion, who has been recently linked to Everton and Manchester City, told the Cristina magazine he’s in no hurry to depart from Sporting.
When asked about the transfer market speculations, Patrício said: “I deal with it naturally. I’m a Sporting player and I have no kind of obsession to leave. I’m calm and I want to enjoy this moment.
“If there are offers, obviously, they will be thought about by me and by Sporting. But as Sporting are my home, Sporting will have the final word.”
According to the reports we’ve covered this week, Manchester City were preparing a €20m bid for the goalkeeper, as Ronald Koeman would have him in his wishlist.
Patrício certainly wouldn’t leave Sporting to sit on a bench, so he would need to be convinced he will be a regular started if he’s to move this summer.
