Lazio could be interested in a move for Everton midfielder Allan this summer, although his wages at Goodison Park are an issue for the Italian side.
That’s according to former striker Christian Vieri, who has commented on the possibility of a move for the Brazilian midfielder.
Allan joined Everton from Napoli in September 2020 as then-manager Carlo Ancelotti sought out a reunion with one of his former stars.
He’s been a mainstay in the Blues midfield since then but has struggled to replicate the kind of form he showed in Naples.
He will certainly be shipped out should Everton be relegated this season, with his high wages something they will have to get rid of in that scenario.
A reunion with former manager Maurizio Sarri would make sense given the player enjoyed his best period under the Italian, but Vieri says there is one sticking point in that potential deal.
“At Lazio, they are working well; right now, you can’t tell them anything,” Citta Celeste report him saying.
“I said it was worth waiting for Sarri at least until the new year. In the last month, he has received a lot of criticism.
“I especially remember the controversy about him saying he couldn’t train his people well during the week.
“As for the market, in my opinion, Romagnoli will go to the biancocelesti next year. Allan is more difficult. At Everton, he gets a five million euro salary.”
