Everton are interested in signing Lucas Moura from Tottenham Hotspur, according to claims from Brazil.
The information was brought on Wednesday by UOL, claiming the Toffees made an approach for the 30-year-old.
That’s all they have to say for now, and there’s actually a good reason for it. The outlet was streaming their De Primeira show, which is where they comment on the recent transfer news they’ve been reporting. That’s when journalist Marcelo Hazan claimed he received the Everton information from his colleague André Hernan.
Hernan has a blog on UOL, as well as a Youtube channel, where he shares many transfer news, and it’s very likely he’ll soon come up with more details on the chase for the Tottenham player.
So this from UOL is more of a tease of what is to come.
Moura’s contract with Spurs expires at the end of the season, and it’s well known that he’s not staying at the club beyond that.
Frequently linked to his former club São Paulo, the player would like to see his options in Europe before taking a decision where to play next. Now it seems Everton could offer him the chance of continuing in the Premier League, and perhaps a deal with Tottenham would even make that move possible in January.
