Everton have made an enquiry for Atlético Mineiro defender Lyanco, according to a new report from Brazil.

The information comes from Globo Esporte, who reveal that the Premier League side are one of three clubs to have contacted the player’s representatives in recent weeks. Olympiacos, from Greece, and Qatari club Al Duhail have also expressed interest.

Lyanco’s camp confirmed the approaches to the outlet, stating that the interest began after the Club World Cup break. Some of the conversations are said to be advancing, although no official bids have been presented to Atlético at this stage.

The Brazilian club are aware of the situation and plan to hold talks with the centre back’s representatives next week.

Lyanco, 27, has been in good form this year and secured a starting role under manager Gabriel Milito. He joined Atlético from Southampton in 2024, and has made 27 appearances and scored four goals in the 2025 season. His current contract runs until December 2028.

Whether Everton decide to follow up with an offer remains to be seen. We’ll keep an eye on this one.
