Earlier on Monday, we covered reports from two Italian newspapers regarding Moise Kean’s performance against Salernitana at the weekend.
Currently loaned by Everton, the forward was dubbed ‘the worst’ on Juventus’ side by both outlets in that game, with the crowd cheering as he was subbed off, and not in a good way.
It’s no secret that the deal struck with the Toffees for the forward hasn’t gone to plan in the slightest for Juventus, who could end up having to pay an extra €28m to the Goodison Park side if certain sporting objectives are met.
That’s the clause in the deal, for which they’ve already paid Everton €7m, but we all know the Serie A side have been trying to get out of the rest for some time now.
Clubs have shown some interest in the past for the player, but due to the way the deal with the Blues has been structured, Juventus would likely have to pay the money to then sell him on, which, unless they can make a profit, doesn’t make much sense.
That’s why he’s stayed put, and Calciomercato over the weekend recall that West Ham and Nottingham Forest made brief enquiries.
However, as explained above, Everton stayed firm in their stance, and ‘did not want to review’ the deal struck with Juventus to let them get off easy.
Those in charge at Goodison Park know they could make an easy €28m in the near future if things go their way, meaning that cancelling it early or accepting less money to make the Turin side’s life easier wasn’t something they were prepared to do.
