Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira is in England to negotiate a move away from the club and Everton are one of the interested parties.
That’s according to BILD, who say that there is no ‘clear favourite’ in the race for the German’s signature.
Khedira is widely expected to leave Juventus in the January transfer window, with the Serie A giants keen to get him, particularly his big wage packet, off their books.
He’s subsequently been linked with a move to the Premier League, with a report from Gazzetta Dello Sport today stating that he wants the move to England over a return to Germany.
That same report stated Everton were keen on his signature courtesy of Carlo Ancelotti, who worked with the midfielder at Real Madrid.
BILD back that up today, stating they are one of the clubs that are ‘interested’ in his signature, but they are one of several.
They explain that Khedira is currently in England to negotiate a move and has ‘received the appropriate permission’ from Juventus to negotiate a move elsewhere.
Everton, though, are no further ahead than anyone else and the midfielder is meeting with representatives of ‘various interested clubs’ at this point in time. Who those others clubs are, though, isn’t mentioned.
Either way, Khedira appears to be on his way to England, but the Toffees have work to do to get their man.
