Everton have ‘taken information’ on Atalanta goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini as they consider a move for him this summer.
That’s according to TuttoAtalanta, who say the Blues are ‘considering’ making a proposal to the Serie A side for the goalkeeper.
We covered a report yesterday that stated Everton were one of the clubs looking at Gollini this summer, with his future at Atalanta in the air following the arrival of Juan Musso.
He is expected to take the number one shirt and push Gollini down the pecking order, which could force him to move elsewhere.
Atalanta are believed to have received several enquiries, and TuttoAtalanta back that up, saying Everton have ‘taken information’ and are ‘considering making a proposal’ to the Percassi.
Like yesterday’s report, there is no mention of an asking price or anything of that nature, simply that the Blues are considering a bid.
On the one hand, that makes sense as they do need competition for Jordan Pickford after Robin Olsen’s loan came to an end, but that’s a role Gollini seems unlikely to accept.
Indeed, if the premise is that he’s leaving Atalanta because he’s been pushed from the number one spot, it makes little sense to move to Goodison Park to be Pickford’s number two.
At the minute, this feels a little short on information, and until we find out what sort of transfer fee could be on offer, it’s probably not worth getting that excited about.
