Everton have been in negotiations ‘for months’ over Eintracht Frankfurt’s Junior Dina Ebimbe, although a move this month is unlikely.

That’s according to BILD, who report on the player as he heads back to the German club after failing a medical at Monaco.

The newspaper explains that Ebimbe had been set to join the Ligue 1 side, even going as far as to delete all of the Eintracht related photos on his Instagram.

However, that was premature as the move to Monaco failed as they found damage on his calf and didn’t want to take the risk.

It’s the latest failed exit from Frankfurt for Ebimbe, who has been trying to get away from the German club since last summer.

The Frenchman has been negotiating with club across Europe ‘for months’ and Everton are one of them. Napoli and Galatasaray have also shown an interest in him.

Monaco appeared to have decided to sink the blow and get him but scans on his calf showed damage and they’ve not taken the risk. That leaves him returning to Frankfurt and perhaps looking at other options before the transfer window closes on Monday.

Everton are unlikely to be among them given their limited options and no space for a loan, but he may be a name to keep an eye on for the summer.
