The Belgian media today reveals Everton’s interest in Aster Vranckx.
That’s said by journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who claims that the player is set to leave VfL Wolfsburg in the summer.
It’s said that several clubs are keen on signing him, including Fiorentina, Napoli and Everton.
Tavolieri writes that meetings with Vranckx’s entourage are about to take place, although no offers have arrived for him so far.
Since there’s only one year left on his contract with Wolfsburg, it’s said the Bundesliga side ‘can’t be greedy’ about the sale.
The German club have tried to extend his contract in the past few months, but with no success.
Vranckx had ups and downs at Wolfsburg this season, making 26 appearances and struggling with an injury in the final fixtures.
He’s currently valued by Transfermarkt at €12m. With Tavolieri claiming that Everton have ‘an eye’ on him, we shall see if the Toffees will actually place a bid for the signing.
Right now, Vranckx is with Belgium’s national team at the Euros, and stayed on the bench in the opening match against Slovakia.
