Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou hasn’t included Eric Dier in his plans this season as the defender hasn’t made an appearance yet.

The 29-year-old has a deal lasting until 2024 and has been linked with AS Roma and Sporting. Earlier this week, Calciomercato stated the Lions are willing to invest to secure his services in January.

Bayern Munich have become the new contender in the chase for the Tottenham player, according to Bild’s podcast, Bayern Insider, relayed by Fussball Transfers.

Thomas Tuchel wanted a centre-back in the last window and the Bavarian club had looked at a few candidates, including Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah.

On October 10th, Sky Deutschland reported he wants to leave the Blues and is keen on joining the Bundesliga winners in January.

According to Bild, the former Chelsea manager continues to insist on signing him but the German club’s board are not in favour of his arrival. Therefore, it’s ‘unlikely’ that a deal will be carried out for Chalobah in the winter market.

The Bayern leaders have identified Tottenham’s Eric Dier and AC Milan’s Pierre Kalulu as the two candidates to strengthen their defence. It’s claimed there could be ‘greater focus’ on the duo in the ‘coming weeks’.

Dier can operate as a centre-back, right-back and also as a defensive midfielder. This, coupled with the duration left on his Tottenham deal, makes him an attractive option over Kalulu in January.
