At this point, Manchester United’s decision to allow Hannibal Mejbri to go to Sevilla has backfired to such an extent that describing the move as anything but a flop would be generous.
In fact, Estadio Deportivo reveal that there is ‘disbelief’ within the player’s entourage when it comes to the treatment the midfielder has received at the LaLiga club since his arrival from Old Trafford.
It’s said those close to the young starlet ‘do not understand’ why he isn’t being picked by Quique Sanchez Flores, with there being some sort of ‘ostracism’ taking place.
With just nine games left in the league and another loss to their record after a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Celta de Vigo, Sevilla are in a pickle and not even the run of bad results can force the manager to turn to the Manchester United loanee for help.
Once again, both Mejbri and Alejo Véliz, on loan from Tottenham, were without minutes, with the latter not even in the squad.
They then focus a bit more on the Manchester United player, where it’s said those around him ‘cannot believe’ the situation that is unfolding and ‘question the power figure of Víctor Orta’ at the club.
At this point, they feel the player’s career is ‘going backwards’ at the LaLiga side due to his lack of minutes, and it’s clear that he will be returning to Old Trafford at the end of the season, with Sevilla not going anywhere near the €18m option to buy.
