Barcelona’s Clément Lenglet has been on loan at Aston Villa since the summer and hasn’t yet managed to enjoy regular game time at Villa Park.
This has seen AC Milan come forward to sign the centre-back in January and Sport discuss the Serie A side’s interest in the Aston Villa man.
It’s claimed another loan move to the San Siro is being studied, likely by the Catalan club.
Lenglet had to wait until last Friday to make his first Premier League appearance of this season and that opportunity arose after Pau Torres was unavailable due to an injury. Prior to that, Unai Emery had only used the Frenchman in the UEFA Conference League.
Despite the current situation, Sport state the Villas manager is ‘counting on him’ and the 28-year-old is expected to finish his loan spell with the Premier League side.
There are other clubs interested in the centre-back while Emery has ‘not opened in the slightest’ to his possible exit next month.
These factors could make it difficult for Milan to sign him but the journalist explains that the situation could change between now and the end of the January window.
