With the U-20 World Cup taking place in the final weeks of the European season, many national teams are having trouble having their full squad available.
Last week, we had already seen reports from Colombia claiming there was ‘concern’ because of Aston Villa youngster Jhon Durán.
It turns out that as Semana now writes about the 19-year-old, they say the indications from England is that it’s ‘practically impossible’ the national team will have him.
The outlet points out that Aston Villa could qualify for European competitions next season, and will need Durán in this run-in.
Unai Emery’s side is set to face Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Brighton & Hove Albion in the upcoming fixtures, and need their full force to reach their objective.
That’s said to be the argument the staff will use not to release Durán, even if he’s often only used at the end of games.
Colombia make their debut in the tournament on the 21th of May, so there’s no chance he could do both, and the final decision from Aston Villa should be made public in the coming days.
