A couple of days ago, we covered a report from Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna claiming Newcastle United lead the race for Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo.
That report very briefly explained that there had been talks between Magpies boss Eddie Howe and the player, and it had been a very positive conversation.
Santi Aouna is now back with an update on the situation, this time bringing more details on Newcastle’s pursuit.
The journalist now writes that as Howe directly spoke to Adarabioyo, the coach explained the plans for the future and the use he’d make of the centre-back next season.
It’s said the defender sees Newcastle ‘very well-placed’ to sign him, ahead of Chelsea and Tottenham, who also want him as a free agent once he leaves Fulham this summer.
Aouna highlights that the Magpies have been wanting to sign two centre-backs this summer, and following an agreement with Lloyd Kelly, they now lead the race for Adarabioyo as well. That would definitely be a great way for the Magpies to save money and reinforce their squad.
