Arsenal don’t appear to be charging forward all guns blazing to sign either of Benjamin Šeško or Gyökeres. Thursday claims from Portuguese newspaper A Bola talked about a potential new offer from the Gunners to Sporting CP, but it was made clear the figures being mentioned still wouldn’t be enough.

Over in Germany, Arsenal have also been having issues with Šeško’s asking price. RB Leipzig had been hoping to make €80-100m from the 22-year-old this summer, continuing a theme of Bundesliga clubs overvaluing their players when selling to the Premier League.

Šeško scored 21 goals last season, with only 13 of those coming in the Bundesliga. Whilst he is clearly a very exciting talent, the figures RB Leipzig were hoping for are clearly not in the same reality as the current transfer market.

Bild report €70m is a ‘more realistic price’, with potential bonuses added on to that figure. RB Leipzig haven’t even had an offer yet, and it’s clear they’re going to have to reduce their demands or gamble on a better season ahead for Šeško and hope they get the money next year.

Šeško wants a move, and so does his teammate Xavi Simons, but it appears both are currently being priced out of the market.
