Tottenham will need to spend at least €20m if they wish to sign Borna Sosa from Stuttgart in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to SportBILD, who cover the player’s future today and interest from Tottenham, Real Sociedad and Sevilla.
The newspaper explains that in ‘sporting and financial terms’, Sosa is the difference maker at the German club.
He’s been a key player on the pitch for Stuttgart this season, providing two goals and six assists as well as producing the most crosses in the Bundesliga and being the club’s biggest chance creator.
That’s earned him plenty of attention and a report earlier this month made it clear that Tottenham were among his suitors.
That also claimed Sosa is ready to take a step up in his career, although Stuttgart rejected a bid of €10m in the January transfer window.
They think their star man is worth much more and SportBILD now state that they are ‘hoping for even more money’ from the player, whose market value is €20m.
Tottenham, Real Sociedad and Sevilla are ‘interested’ in his signature but whether they will pay what Stuttgart are looking for isn’t made clear.
The German side are protected by the fact Sosa is locked into a contract until 2025, so they have no desperate need to sell or reduce their demands considerably.
They’ve set their stall out, they want to secure a big figure for their player, and it will be up to Tottenham and the other suitors to match that.
