We love it when stories from the summer take a while to come out, and this seems to be the case of Manchester City’s interest in a Brazilian youngster.
Journalist Venê Casagrande now reports that the Premier League side have made an approach to sign Flamengo attacker Lincoln.
It’s claimed that Manchester City have ‘consulted’ about the player’s situation, signalling to his agents they could pay €10m for 80% of his rights.
The report says the idea was to buy Lincoln immediately and loan him out to Anderlecht.
But Flamengo didn’t like the amount and haven’t even opened negotiations for the transfer. Venê Casagrande adds that the youngster’s contract runs until 2021.
Lincoln is still 18, but made his debut for Flamengo back in 2017. He already has 41 appearances for the club so far.
Although the Rio de Janeiro side seem focused on keeping the player, most fans on social media say that the club should’ve accepted the Manchester City offer, since he hasn’t shown a lot of improvement lately.
