Earlier on Tuesday, we covered an article from Italy claiming that Weston McKennie was turning down moves to smaller Premier League clubs in hope of something better.
With Tottenham, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund taking an interest in the past, it was said that he was awaiting movement from those types of clubs to leave Juventus.
Well, that appears to have now been backed up by Ciro Venerato, who made it clear when speaking to 1 Football Club on 1 Station Radio.
Looking at what the Juventus transfer market could hold, the RAI journalist touched upon McKennie’s situation, which is when Tottenham were mentioned.
He said, relayed by TuttoJuve: “As far as the January market is concerned, the club will tend to sell because it would like to raise cash. First with McKennie. He dreams of Tottenham, but there are currently only offers from lower Premier League clubs.”
Therefore, it appears McKennie is indeed specifically waiting for Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici to come knocking at his door and giving him an opportunity, just like they did last season with Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski.
Whether that’s something Tottenham do, however, remains to be seen, as they look to improve on their form and attempt another Champions League finish in the Premier League table.
