Last December, Het Nieuwsblad reported Tottenham Hotspur showed concrete interest in signing Club Brugge’s Andreas Skov Olsen in the winter market. It was also stated they had their scouts in Qatar to watch the 23-year-old in action for Denmark at the World Cup.

The possibility of Tottenham returning for him in the summer has now been ruled out, if De Morgen is to be believed.

Olsen has nine goals and five assists from 27 games this season, out of which only a goal and an assist came in 2023. He suffered a hip injury this year, which forced him to spend two months on the sidelines.

The Denmark international’s form at the start of this season had convinced the north London club to make an approach, preferably in January, when he was valued at €20m.

Club Brugge weren’t in favour of this and were hoping for the versatile player to develop further in the second half of the season, so that they could earn a lucrative fee from his sale in the summer.

That hasn’t happened as the Dane struggled on and off the pitch. His value has dropped to €17m.

Therefore, Olsen’s name is ‘no longer’ on Tottenham’s target list and his ‘dream transfer’ to Spurs now seems to be ‘completely’ off the table.

Olsen needs to regain his best form if he wishes to seal a big move in the future.
