Last December, Tuttosport stated Newcastle United were keen on signing Matias Soulé in the winter market but they didn’t take necessary steps to carry out the deal.
The Magpies have continued to be named as an interested party in recent weeks in the Italian media.
On February 6th, TV Play said Newcastle have initiated contact over a summer deal for a winger who has been on their radar for months. Earlier this month, Calciomercato stated Eddie Howe’s side are aware that Juventus need €40m to sanction his sale.
Earlier claims had stated the 20-year-old had received an offer from Al-Ittihad in January, but the winger now claims he had no plans to change clubs midway through the season.
The Argentina U20 international was then asked to mention the league he would like to move to in the future.
He said: “If they give me the choice of a league, I would go to England. Everyone knows that it’s one of the best leagues, it would be a dream to play there. I would also like to be able to stay at Juventus.”
This would certainly please Newcastle in their ongoing pursuit of the South American.
He’s managed 10 goals and registered two assists from 27 league games for Frosinone this season, and as it stands, Soulé will have to return to Juve in the summer.
