Earlier this week, Noticias de Gipuzkoa stated Real Sociedad consider Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek as an ideal target and were contemplating signing him either on loan or a permanent transfer.
Dynamo Moscow’s Arsen Zakharyan is also on the La Liga side’s agenda. Today’s Mundo Deportivo states they have decided to go ahead and sign the Russian to bolster the midfield.
It’s said negotiations between the two clubs for Zakharyan are advancing and La Real are convinced the deal will go through for €12m. This would be a blow for the Manchester United player.
Real Sociedad have been negotiating with the Red Devils in ‘recent weeks’ for Van de Beek but the report states Zakharyan’s arrival would ‘rule out the Dutchman 100%’.
Mundo add the Spanish club’s ‘doors will be closed’ for the 26-year-old once they agree a deal with Dynamo Moscow. Erik ten Hag’s side posed a ‘problem’ for Real Sociedad to sign the former Ajax man.
The San Sebastian club wanted to take Van de Beek on loan with an option to buy while the Red Devils insisted on a mandatory purchase option of over €12m.
In addition to this, Zakharyan’s salary would also be much lower than that of the Dutchman.
Therefore, Real Sociedad are now focused on negotiating the transfer fee and payment terms with the Russian club for Zakharyan.
