Leeds United fans probably don’t need to be asked twice for their thoughts on former owner Andrea Radrizzani.
To say the Italian was, and remains, a divisive figure for the Elland Road faithful would be putting it lightly and it seems that’s something which they share with Sampdoria supporters.
Radrizzani is now in charge of the Italian club, having moved to buy them after completing his sale of Leeds to 49ers investment in the summer.
That brought an end to a turbulent time in charge at Elland Road, where he had overseen the appointment of Marcelo Bielsa and subsequent return to the Premier League but also various transfer failings that led to the Argentine departing and eventual return to the Championship last season.
He had presumably been hoping to return to Italy and start again with Sampdoria and lead them back to Serie A but, instead, they sit in the bottom three and 19 points behind leaders Parma.
Questions are now being asked about Radrizzani and his team, with it even claimed that the former Leeds boss has taken something of a step back and could move on before too long.
The Italian side and their fans are clearly concerned about their future, as demonstrated by former player Loris Boni, who expressed them recently according to Samp News.
“I know the Sampdoria fans well, I know them all right, you saved them from the quicksand, but we must not rest on laurels which then lead us to realize that everything is falling apart,” he said.
“Spending more money to get the car back on the right lane can be a problem but in Genoa there are people who can serve the cause and above all bring enthusiasm, determination and character back to those young people because in Serie B this is what is needed.
“Study the history, give certainties and not faces that convey nothing. Have you invested in Sampdoria? I don’t want to end up like Leeds, I want to keep believing. And you?”
