Radu Dragusin’s first few months at Tottenham Hotspur continues to be a constant topic in the Romanian media, who are watching out for his start in the Premier League.
The latest comments about the Spurs defender were made by former player Dorin Goian, who showed support for the 22-year-old.
Quoted by Sport, the ex-Romania international claimed there’s still plenty of time for Dragusin to succeed at Tottenham, and he should continue working hard to achieve that.
“My message is do not lose confidence and train really well. He must show the coach that he is valuable, and every time he enters the field, a half, a match or a few minutes, to play as well as possible,” said Goian.
“That’s how it is with the big teams, the competition is very high. It is important that he trains very well every day, and when he comes in to show that he is valuable.”
Tottenham had been looking hard to reinforce their defence in the January transfer window, and spent €25m to sign Dragusin from Genoa.
So far, the centre-back made six appearance for Spurs, and despite having to starts in a row in the matches against Fulham and Luton Town, he ended up returning to the bench for the match against West Ham United this weekend after the return of Micky van de Ven.
It’s clearly too early to make any comments about his time at Tottenham, but the Romanian media are quite anxious to see one of their national team stars doing well in the Premier League.
