Earlier on Wednesday, the German media claimed that Bayern Munich are interested in signing João Palhinha from Fulham.
With the Bundesliga side needing to add new pieces to the midfield, it was said they set eyes on Marco Silva’s star.
It turns out that as Sky Deutschland now has an update on the situation, they point out how difficult it would be for Bayern to snatch Palhinha from Fulham.
Some comments were made by Florian Plettenberg, who claimed that the price is too high for the German club to afford.
According to Sky’s information, Bayern Munich are in contact with both Fulham and the player’s staff. The problem is that the Whites demand €90m for the sale, and already proved how serious they are when turning down €60m from West Ham.
Plettenberg highlighted that the possibility of joining the Bundesliga side is something that attracts Palhinha, as well as his agents.
“Of course, that spurs him on, he would immediately switch to FC Bayern. That is a fact. The advisory staff and the player would do that. Bayern are definitely in contact with all parties.”
With Bayern not looking very confident either, Sky claims that they didn’t even make an offer. Palhinha is said to be Thomas Tuchel’s priority, but also very hard to achieve.
Meanwhile, Plettenberg is hyping the situation on Twitter… which doesn’t seem very consistent with the earlier statements.
